Home & living supports

Our Home & Living supports are designed to help people build confidence, maintain independence, and feel connected to their community. Whether you want to remain in your own home, explore supported independent living, or consider other support accommodation options, we work alongside you, your family, and your broader network to find the right fit.

We understand that home looks different for everyone. That’s why we focus on personalised support that reflects your goals, culture, strengths, and daily living needs.

What are home & living supports?

Home & Living supports under the NDIS help people with disability live safely and comfortably in housing that suits their needs.

This may include:

Help with daily tasks such as cooking meals, cleaning, and laundry

Personal care support and assistance with medication management

Support to build skills for daily life and achieve your personal goals

Overnight support where required

Help to access the community and build confidence in living life more independently

Depending on your NDIS plan, supports may be delivered in your own space, a shared living space, or specialist disability accommodation. Our team works closely with participants, families, guardians, and support coordinators to ensure supports are practical, respectful, and culturally safe.

Our home & living support options

We provide a range of flexible support options across Broome and the Kimberley region, tailored to individual goals and levels of support.

Independent Living Options (ILO)

KCG is an ILO provider meaning we can help you find a local solution to maximise your independence and find a meaningful home to return to each evening. With exploration of the ILO model, we find out what suits you and your needs.

ILO offers a package of funding to help you live as comfortably as possible.
This funding does not pay for a house, but you can use the funding to enable supports to make a house, a home.

Individual Living Options (ILO) are based around your needs as an individual and who you want around you each day. This could look like:

Host arrangements (living with another family or group of friends)

Living Alone (friends and family can 'check in' on you rather than support worker all the time)

Co-residency (formal or informal supports can live part-time or full- time with you)

We take the time to understand what matters most to you, then work together to build a sustainable, individualised living options model that feels right.

All of the above needs to be approved by the NDIS and shown in your plan for us to accommodate your living needs.

Supported Independent Living (SIL)

SIL is an all-encompassing living support model. You will live permanently in one of our homes with other people that are well-matched to your personality type.

The focus is on making the home feel like home to you. Enabling supports that will work with your care needs and adapting the environment to allow you to live as independently as possible.

Our supported independent living services may include:

24/7 assistance, including overnight support

Help with personal care and household routines

Support to develop daily living skills

Assistance with community participation and support to things like medical appointments

Support for people with very high support needs

SIL focuses on helping you build confidence while living in a supportive environment, often within a shared home setting. It is important to note that SIL funding covers the support you receive, not the housing itself.

If you have supported independent living funding in your NDIS plan, our team can help you explore available options for this type of specialist housing and guide you through the process.

All of the above needs to be approved by the NDIS and shown in your plan for us to accommodate your living needs.

Short-term and Medium-term Accommodation (STA & MTA)

Temporary support when you need it most.

This may include:

Respite for families and carers

Transitional support while waiting for long-term housing

Support during changes to your NDIS plan

A safe and supportive environment during times of crisis

Easy access to community spaces, services, and activities.

Our houses are designed to make you feel at home, even if it’s only for a temporary stay. They are equipped with high-quality and modern equipment to suit all mobility needs. This includes free Wi-Fi, accessible pools, open and green spaces, and large bathrooms and bedrooms.

We prioritise accessibility for all disabilities, including clear signage and easy-to-navigate layouts.

All of the above needs to be approved by the NDIS and shown in your plan for us to accommodate your living needs.

Why KCG?

Working alongside existing support services

We recognise that many participants already have trusted relationships with existing support services.

Our approach is collaborative. We work alongside:

Your support coordinator

Allied health professionals

Family members and guardians

Community organisations

By maintaining open communication, we ensure your home and living supports align with your NDIS plan and broader goals.

Disability support that adapts to you

Every person’s journey is different. That’s why our disability support approach is flexible and responsive.

Whether you’re building confidence in cooking meals, strengthening medication management routines, learning new daily tasks, or exploring long-term housing options, we focus on:

Respecting your choices

Supporting your independence

Encouraging meaningful community participation

Creating safe, culturally responsive environments

We believe home should support your growth, not limit it.

Current vacancies

We regularly review availability across our supported living arrangements.

If you are seeking current vacancies in Broome or surrounding communities, our team can provide up-to-date information and guide you through the referral process.

We understand that vacancies in regional and remote areas can be limited, so early conversations help us plan effectively and avoid delays.
